If you know me, you know I LOVE Halloween. Give me bats, skeletons, black candles and some strategically placed creepy cloth and I'm golden.
Last year, we hosted a Halloween party at our house, which gave me the perfect excuse to have some fun decorating. Since my son and some of our friends' kids were as young as 10, I didn't want anything too scary or gory. I definitely want them to come back sometime. :) So basically my goal was to create a Halloween space that felt spooky, stylish and fun.
Now, because I know how busy this time of year can be between work, school, activities and everything else on your TODO list, I also know that Halloween can really "creep" up on you (ha ha) before you've had a chance to even think about decorating — let alone spend hours searching for it.
So, I thought I'd do you a favor and save you some time.
I've rounded up some of my favorite Halloween finds so you can skip scrolling through hundreds of plastic spiders and skeletons, and grab what you need to get straight to the fun part. Just click the images throughout this post to get access to the shopping links.

Black Gauze
This might have been the hardest-working decoration in my house. I draped black gauze over tables, consoles and even our entryway mirror. It's inexpensive, takes about two minutes to put up and instantly makes everyday furniture and décor feel a little more Halloween-y.
Candles
Candles were another easy way to transform things I already owned. I used tealights, as well as black taper candles in various candle holders I already owned to create moody vibes throughout the house. Candlelight is perfect for making everything feel appropriately spooky without venturing into haunted-house territory.
Skeletons
Apparently, tiny skeletons make excellent houseguests because I couldn't seem to get enough of them. Instead of one giant skeleton that might frighten the kids, I tucked smaller poseable skeletons into unexpected places such as sitting on a console table, perched in a kitchen planter or hanging out amongst my regular décor to bring in the Halloween spirit.
Bats, Crows & Other Creepy Creatures
A flock of 3D plastic bats instantly Halloween-ified a few otherwise normal walls, while a few black crow figures added a bit more creepiness.
Give Your Everyday Décor a Halloween Makeover
You really don't have to replace a whole lot. A few intentional accessories will go a long way. I kept my plants, pottery, wood furniture, books and other everyday pieces and simply mixed Halloween décor in with them. I swapped my pillow covers for Halloween-themed ones. I put a skull under a glass dessert cloche that I already had. I tucked a ghost amongst candleholders and grouped some pumpkins around plants, and that was enough to make the house feel festive. That said, I love going ALL IN on theme parties, so I added a bunch of witch hats to the ceiling to really complete the look.

What I Have My Eye on This Year
Of course, just because I already own Halloween décor doesn't mean I'm not tempted to add a few new things this year. I like to reuse most of what I have and add a couple of new pieces each year to change things up. And since I've already started browsing, I figured I might as well save you some time while I'm at it.
